Known as the 'Pearl of the South', Phuket is Thailand's largest and most visited island. The tourist infrastructure is very well developed and it knows how to cater for the needs of every tourist.
Phuket is the only island province in Thailand and is located 860 kms south of Bangkok, on the west coast in the Andaman Sea. In addition to the main island there are 39 smaller islands.
Patong is the largest resort and famous for its nightlife. Other beaches such as Karon and Kata are located nearby and offer a quieter holiday.
There are many activities in and around Phuket including diving, snorkeling, kayaking and other water sports. A visit to the famous "James Bond Island" in Phang-nga national park is highly recommended. Other trips include nearby islands including the famous Phi-Phi island.
