Located 150 kms south east of Bangkok, Pattaya is an easy two hour drive. The resort is now infamous as the drinking and go-go bar resort of Thailand. It receives over 5 million tourists every year.
The sheer number of restaurants, bars and hotels mean that competition keeps the prices down and the easy accessibility from Bangkok make it very good value for money.
In addition to the beaches and nightlife there are a great variety of sports - many golf courses, numerous water sports (diving, jet skiing, sailing etc.) and even shooting, bungee jumping, sky diving, horseback riding and go-karting.
There are some quiet resorts to get away from it all but in general Pattaya is not a quiet resort!
